While Lgonda sounds Italian or Spanish it is decidedly English, and if this Drop Head Coupe looks like a Bentley it's no accident. When W.O. Bentley lost Bentley Motors to Rolls-Royce in 1935, he took his enginnering prowess and vision to British rival Lagonda Motor Car Company. The move was apparently good for both parties as that year Lagonda won LeMans.
Compared to the flamboyant designs coming out of Auburn, Delahaye and Talbot Lago, Lagondas were conservative in the classic British way, but when combined with the performance gained from their racing experience they were a fast and refined.
