Arizona Concours d'Elegance
Classic Automotive Portraits photographed the fourth annual Arizona Concours d'Elegance at the Arizona Biltmore on Sunday January 15th. Seventeen classes featured a glittering array of automobiles lead by the featured class, The Cars of Ettore and Jean Bugatti. Clouds threatened but the "car gods" smiled on the event and rain did not materialize.
Competition was fierce with marques including Packard, Auburn, Cadillac, Duesenberg, Ferrari, Lincoln, Rolls Royce, Lagonda, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Chevy Corvette, Shelby Cobra, Delage, Delahaye, Aston Martin, Maserati and more.
Best of Show was awarded to the spectacular and rare 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC "Atlantic" from the Mullin Museum. "We first saw this amazing automobile at the outstanding 'Curves of Steel' exhibition at the Phoenix Art Museum in 2007, and later at the Mullin Museum in 2014," commented Owner-Artist Robert Diepenbrock, "It was a real treat to see this multi-million dollar jewel outdoors and running."
"Our hats are off the tireless commitment of the staff and volunteers of the Arizona Concours," added Co-Owner-Artist Cathy Beard, "With an increasing reputation and an ever growing field of amazing automobiles, the Arizona Concours has become one of the top automotive events in the country."
